Partnerships for the future

May 4th, 2010 · No Comments

Every year the bilateral HIV and AIDS Partner meeting for organisations funded by the Royal Netherlands Embassy takes place in Pretoria.  The Embassy’s impressive group of partners (including Miet Africa, AIDS Foundation South Africa (AFSA), Centre for Municipal Research and Advice (CMRA), Foundation for Professional Development (FPD), AIDS Law Project (ALP) and others) meet to explore issues in the South African health sector, HIV and AIDS related developments and the next steps in the important work they do in this field.

This year the workshop will be looking ahead at what the Embassy’s partnerships might look like in the context of a changing donor environment, what the relationship between the grant recipients and grant makers might entail, and how this can have a positive impact in South Africa as well as in the Netherlands. To inform the focus of this workshop, Infusion conducted interviews with the Embassy’s grantees and partners – and this research will feed into the 2-day meeting where Dr Melani Prinsloo will facilitate interactive sessions with the CEO’s and senior management of the NGO’s.  The session will cover Stakeholder Relationships & Leveraging Value Based Partnerships and will explore current realities, alternate partnership models and future scenarios.
